A fabulous Thanksgiving Day 2015

Thanksgiving Day started with lots of blue sky and warm sunshine!  A perfect day for a Thanksgiving Day feast in the great outdoors.  We all enjoyed wonderful food, comradery and a campfire!  We have so much to be thankful for and are truly blessed to have such great guests.

In memory of my dog Yoyo

It was my lucky day when I found him abandoned at the park close to home! A tiny bundle of love, so scared.  I named him Yoyo because he was always jumping up and down like a yoyo.  Yoyo was attached to my hip for 15 great years.  Always full of love and mischief. From chewing through garden hoses as a youngster to riding around in my cart at Kountry Air RV Park.  Always keeping me company no matter what I was doing.  Yoyo was a great companion, traveler, camper, & hiker.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Wishing you all the magic of the Christmas Season.  It is hard to believe that another year has gone by.  They seem to go by quicker each year.

We are thankful for all our blessings and our wonderful guests who have stayed with us.  We wish everyone a happy, healthy and safe New Year!

Christmas morning was a bit chilly but warmed up as the day went along.  Don lit the campfire and Gigi put the coffee on and made some fresh baked Christmas bread.  It was a nice time to share in the Christmas spirit with our guests.

Thanksgiving Blessings 2013

We have so much to be thankful for on this Thanksgiving Day and appreciate our many blessings and our guests, family and friends we have met on this journey.

The day dawned on the cool side so we had dinner inside.

We all enjoyed a campfire and wonderful feast.
Gigi made a huge pot of turkey soup and we all enjoyed it on Saturday afternoon too!!

Wishing you happy trails and a wonderful holiday season.

P.S.  There were some mighty fine BBQ's smells wafting through the park and I really appreciate the recipe sharing!!

Birthdays were also celebrated for 2 wonderful sisters and their husbands who rendezvoused here and stayed with us for a month.

Hungarian bacon roasting and fun times!

campfireNever heard of bacon roasting Hungarian style?

Let me tell you it is really yummy. This was always a special treat when we were growing up.  Don calls it cardiac corner.  Well, you only go around once.

You take slab bacon and cut it into approximately 3x4" chunks.  Lightly score the top and put it on a sturdy roasting stick close to the rind of the bacon.

You need a good campfire with lots of glowing coals.  We like to use the pecan wood.  It makes a nice fire.

Good Sam, Blue Berries, Weaving and more...

Good Sam ParkIt has been a busy early summer.

June 14th was our 2nd anniversary here at the park.  Time flies.  A lot has changed and we continue to work on projects to improve the park.

Our big news is that we are now a Good Sam Park with an 8.5 rating.  We are very excited and aim to make Kountry Air RV Park the best park in the Prattville area.

Square Foot Gardening

GardeningThe garden is doing much better this season.  We are harvesting beans, squash, peppers and tomatoes.  The cantelope, corn and pumpkins are coming along too.

Making changes everyday

We have been really busy working on our trees.  Several were cut down and the large pecan trees were pruned in the front yard.  Many thanks to Trimmer Up Tree Service for doing such a great job safely and efficiently.  We now have lots of firewood available and good pecan wood for smoking in your BBQ's.

Don did the firewood cutting and Gigi did the stacking.  We worked all week to clean up all the limbs from the pruning.
